Synchronicity, manifestation, coincidence, kismet.
Synchronicity is defined as events which appear significantly related but have no discernable connection.
Spiritual synchronicity is described as strategically orchestrated and perfectly aligned events deliver a message, provide guidance, or provide reassurance that we're on the right path.
Manifestation in psycholigical terms is to use our thoughts, feelings and beliefs to bring something to our physical reality.
Coincidence concurrence of events without apparent causal connection.
Kismet refers to fate or destiny.
I had a stunning encounter with a person I had come to quite well a little over 31 years ago. When the encounter began, neither of us recognized eachother. However, as our conversation progressed, both of us came to realize that we had played a pivotal roll in eachothers lives.
We happened to sit next to eachother at a performance. My husband and I were season ticket holders and usually occupy the same seats for events at this particular venue. The other person, her husband and son had just happend to purchase their seats for this particular event. We greeted eachother and made some small talk. She and I were seated next to eachother and she mentioned that she had retired from a 36 year career as a nurse....later I learned it was in the NICU where I had delivered my youngest child. I did some quick math and said that perhaps she had taken care of them and of me. She said that she worked primarily in the NICU. My curiousity was peaked and I told her that my daughter, who only lives 5 1/2 months, spent plenty of time in the ICU and that my late husband would bring his guitar in and play for the NICU babies late at night. She asked our family name, I told her. She sat for a moment then turned around to face me and told me her first name. I took a deep breath and said I know you. We were both mystified in the moment. She not only took care of Carlyn in the NICU, but for those of you who know what goes on in these critical situations - she took care of the whole family. She worked with us not only in the NICU, but when we were finally able to take our girl home with round the clock care, she picked up shifts at the home health agency and spent them with us in our home.
When the day came that Carlyn took her last breath, she was the one giving her CPR and trying to will her back to life. She is a superpower when it comes to kindness, caring and commitment. After tears, and shaking and finally stunned silence, we did the best we could to re-focus on the musical. Neither of us had much luck.
She confided that in that 36 year career there were 4 or 5 babies that took a piece of her heart and Carlyn was one of them.
Three days after our meeting, I invited her to one of my sound baths. It is one thing I can do to provide peace, comfort and some joy to someone who so profoundly affected our lives. She shard with me that she also found comfort enjoying coming to sound bath.
Of all the terms I through out above, spiritual synchronicity is how I interpret this event/blessing. The strength of our reactions sweetened this spiritual connectedness.
